What can I do to make the Sligo Mayo Greenway happen? Step one: Contact sligomayogreenway@gmail.com  Step Two: Contact your local TD, Councillor and Mayo/Sligo County Councils.  If you agree - shout out and say so!  Guess what if you say nothing, nothing is said!  You have looked at this website - now do something, we want no money we just want you to speak out!  Say to the powers that be:  This is a great idea for our community can it happen please!  Tell them you want a safe place to walk/cycle, you want to see hungry tired tourists arrive in town, tell them your childen will benefit, tell them not to miss the opportunity and get on with it.

The Sligo Mayo Greenway campaign is an on-line campaign.  If you feel you can help with technical expertise for example building our Face book and You Tube page then please contact the campaign at sligomayogreenway@gmail.com.

But we need people to make their voices heard on line.  We need people in our area to start making their voices heard  Remember this idea will generate a tourist jobs for our area, it will protect the alignment of the railway line, it will give your children a safe place to enjoy cycliing running and walking, it will give all adults in the area a safe and pleasant place to exercise, it will allow people to cycle to work in our locality - Once the SligoMayogreenway is in place we will wonder why it didn't happen years ago

Get writing! Email and letters are powerul tools.   So are phone calls. So is talking to your friends, neighbours, families and colleagues - spread the idea.  Tell people about this new idea let's get people thinking about the idea and then lets get going! Lets stand up and say this is a great idea and we want to see it happen.  Lets say we don't want to see any more pedestrian victims on our roads, lets say we want more tourists, lets say this is our facility and we want to see it used for something useful.  Now not in 30 years time when it will be too late

Please contact people you think we can influence.  We need to get both Sligo County Council and Mayo County Council on side.  We need Failte Ireland on side.  We need our local TDs on side.  We need our local Chambers of Commerce on Side.  We need our local Community Councils on side.  We need our cycyling and wallking clubs on side.  We need our Mothers and Todder groups and school children on side. We need our voice to be heard about this great idea.

Do you want a safe place for your children to cycle.  Take your children out in the buggy for a walk.  To see tourists coming into towns that need the business. To see the rail line be re-invented in the 21st century - OF COURSE YOU DO - THEN DO SOMETHING NOW!
